Annual International Irish Music & Set Dancing Festival

The Castletown dancing and music festival takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
The festival incorporates five ceili’s with the first beginning on the Friday night. Set dancing workshops take place on Saturday and Sunday with the weekend drawing to a close with a ceili on Monday afternoon.

The Budweiser International Golf Challenge is a fourball, betterball competition which takes place over the excellent parkland golf courses in County Laois from May 21st to May 24th 2007.
The leading players with the best accumulated scores over the 3 days will qualify to play the Grand Final on Thursday 24th May at the magnificent Heritage Golf Course at Killenard, designed by Seve Ballesteros.
Prizes will be presented at the end of each day with a Special Tournament Reception and Prize Presentation on Thursday evening at the Heritage for all participants. Every entrant will be guaranteed 4 days of golf.

This agricultural show takes place every August. The show is well worth a visit with lots to see and do plus many competitions and contests such as the Glamorous Granny, Local Dog Show, Vintage Section, Sheaf Pitching, Tug of War, Farm Tasks (Macra Na Feirme), and Ponies which can all be entered on the day. There is loads to interest everyone of all age groups and all are welcome along to enjoy the show.

Durrow Carnival Weekend centres around the local town square. The festival involves activities such as pub soccer - Carnival - Queen Competition Festival - Carnival Parade - Live Music on Bandstands on Sunday afternoon - Some music concerts in Hotel over weekend - Wheel of fortune - Bouncing Castle - Amusements - Street entertainment etc.
