Rural Development
Following the publication of the Government's Rural Development Strategy, the Authority through membership of the National Rural Development Forum and its statutory role in reviewing and monitoring NDP expenditures, will continue to ensure a focus on rural development within the Midland Region. In particular it will strive to ensure:
- Rural services and infrastructure are maintained and improved
- Development of innovative rural transport services
- Development of education, human resources and capacity building measures.
- Sustainable rural communities
- Continued focus on poverty and social exclusion including small family farm holdings.
