Regional Planning Guidelines

The Directors Report has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of Section 9(1), 9(3) and 9(4) of the Planning and Development (Regional Planning Guidelines) Regulations, 2009. The report includes:

(i)                   a list of the persons or bodies that made submissions or observations to the Draft Regional Planning Guidelines (RPGs) for the Midland Region 2010-2022

(ii)                 a summary of the issues raised by the persons or bodies in the submissions or observations and

(iii)                the response of the Director to the issues raised, taking account of any directions of the members under article 6(6), the proper planning an sustainable development of the region, the statutory obligations of the local authorities in the region and the relevant policies and objectives of the Government, including the National Spatial Strategy.

The Directors Report on the Draft Regional Planning Guidelines 2010-2022 was adopted at the monthly meeting of the Midland Regional Authority (July 20^th 2010). It is anticipated that the Regional Planning Guidelines for the Midland Region 2010-2022 and associated environmental reports will be published in October 2010.

The Midland Regional Authority received 43 submissions in response to the Draft Regional Planning Guidelines (RPGs) for the Midland Region 2010-2022. The submissions can be viewed in the office of the Midland Regional Authority during business hours.
